Irish golf had to wait 60 years (Fred Daly 1947) for a second Major golf winner, and Padraig Harrington made the breakthrough in 2007 with a victory in the British Open. He repeated this success the following year and added the US PGA to make that 3 of the best in two years. Graeme McDowell, Rory McLlroy, and Darren Clarke have since done this island proud with a Major win each, but sometimes I think that Harrington’s unique achievement is somewhat overlooked as we look to the future.
